The original poem by Amrita Pritam is nothing short of beautiful. It was originally written in Punjab and translated to English. The link to the original poem, ‘I will meet you again’ can be found below: http://www.littlemag.com/ghosts/amritapritam.html

I will meet you again, in the
same place where we dipped
into the stars with our toes
and danced on the sky.
I will meet you again, in this
hall of memories where our bodies
melted time and our
souls devoured logic, where
we dreamt the dreams of our ancestors, and
flew away from the curses of the skin.
I will meet you again, where
onyx stains corrode the seas, and
roots grow out and pierce the sky, and
trees blossom underground.
I will meet you again, when
clouds explode and
oceans cease to carry us to shore, when
the ground no longer holds
our weight and swallows borders.
I will meet you again, when
the sky fabrics tear at the seams and
reveal the putrid cogs in
perpetual motion.
I will meet you again, when
every shred of hope is buried, and
life becomes another
snuffed light in the night.
I will fear nothing, not even
the Apocalypse.
Because I know, it will mean
I will see you again.
One reply on “I will meet you at the end of times”
Wow! Blown for sure.
